How in the world did it take me this long to find out that the urang-utan reviewed my car? Even in the same colour! And he's not even too harsh about it. Sure, there are the usual old people jokes but in the end he seems to be quite pleased with the "bath chair with variable valve timing". "Even young people would enjoy driving it." Yep, he's right. For some weird reason Honda decided to throw strut tower braces at this thing! But to be fair, he only spends half of this 8 minute segment on my actual car to then move on to review the car I imagine driving when I'm in mine. With a little help from Damon Hill!
Feel free to post old road tests of your car in the replies, and we can smile together!

He reviewed - and really rather liked - a couple of variations on my car. Two all but identical performance editions, and the bog-standard ordinary one that boring people and teenagers drive. Guess which I've got?

There used to be a couple more floating around, but they've been lost to time and daft copyright claims. In one, he declared it the second-best handling car ever made, and in the other, it came in at 88 on his 'Top 100 Cars' list.

Well, they were a bit controversial after the much loved W126. "Too Big!" And so on. But they aged very well. It's kinda sad that they had to go through a time of low appreciation when (at least in Germany) they all migrated to the East to become the whip of choice for questionable business-men. So good ones are rather hard to find in their country of origin right now.
Little known fun fact: It is rumoured that the German government's fleet service had to get a bigger car wash to get them clean in time for the dignitaries.

Well, it is huge, compared to say, my grandpa's old W111.
But the engine is also huge, a 6-litre Naturally-Aspirated V12. And that's simply the best engine i ever drive.
But i didn't know the W140 was rare in germany. You know, sometimes i had a dream to move into germany, because i once live there for 3 years, and i love it.

Yep, the XJ Cherokee! It was a booming success in Europe in the early 90s. They were the iPhone of the 90s for the upper middle-class and lower upper-class or whatever. I might even go as far as saying that they were responsible for Merc and BMW to feel like like they had to win back market shares on their home turf (and abroad) by introducing tke ML and the X5. And what a timeless design! They still look perfect today.

Upon watching the review, I had to snicker at the "no parts falling off" bit.

Clarkson road testing my mom's last two cars. Skip to 6:05 for hers, both 3.0s (not 2.8) with Quattro

Best I can do is Tiff Needell driving the wrong generation of mine.
Although Clarkson did do an extensive trail test of our Jeep:
